| Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association who is the member of EUPAVE (European Concrete Paving Association) published the Turkish version of its publication named “Concrete Roads:A Smart and Sustainable Choice”. The publication composed of environmental, economic and social benefits of cement and concrete with its sustainable applications. Some of the main titles of the book are as follows; • Use of “low energy cement” • Lifetime – Maintenance – Costs throughout the service life of the road • Less delays as a result of less road works • A range of solutions in favour of mobility This publication is prepared to show that the modern concrete roads are the sustainable solutions for the society with the help of benefits drived from international experiences. Furthermore, it provides the main criteria like environmental, economical and social concepts in sustainable construction. Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association constructed roads of concrete at two different parts of Turkey, Afyon – Emirdağ in Afyon and Kemerburgaz in İstanbul with the total length of 5,5 kms aiming to show the advantages of concrete roads in comparison to asphalt roads by its road grasp, driving comfort, security and wear resistance in climatic conditions.
