Workshop of Concrete Design

The workshop began with Dr. Önder Kırca’s (ÇİMSA) presentations on the structural properties of concrete and white cement applications. In the afternoon Dr. Deniz Güner, eloborated on the ethimology of the terms, Monolith/Monolithic/Versatility. She presented some examples of extraordinary concrete implementations of current Swiss architecture and also the Works and intellectual approaches of Valerio Olgiati, the curator of the competition, based on his buildings. |
| At the end of their presentations, students completed their team work with moderators, during which they developed some concepts such as; form,material sustainability, surface, perpendicularity, fullness/emptiness, perception. The workshop starting with team Works on 5 February, continued on individual presentations. The workshop, during which the versatility of the monolithic concept was studied, came to an end. |
